Senior Vet Camp — Spay Neuter Exhibit
Senior Vet Camp is an experience that will offer many hands-on sessions, which will challenge future veterinarians in grades 9 thru 12 to learn and develop their animal doctor skills. During the senior camp, campers will learn and practice their suturing skills, develop their physical exam technique, learn about how radiographs (x-rays) are made and what you can learn from them. During the camp, you will observe a live animal spay or castration surgery on a dog. You will work with current veterinary students from the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine who will also share with you the educational pathway to veterinary school and what careers options await you as a veterinarian. Veterinarians work with animals in hospitals, on farms, in zoo as well as use their training to protect human health via our food chain and general disease outbreak control, development of new drugs and even work to ensure that our country is safe from animal diseases in general. You don’t want to miss this great camp!
