Junior Vet Camp — Spay Neuter Exhibit
Junior
Vet Camp is an experience for students in 6
th through 8th
grades who aspire to be a veterinarian one day. The campers will have the
opportunity to be a doctor for the day by practicing many hands-on veterinary
skills. They will be able to practice bandaging on canine models. Each
individual camper will have the chance to place an intravenous (IV) catheter in
an animal model. They will also explore the field of radiography (x-rays) to
learn what is inside of our patients. Current veterinary medical students from
the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine will lead the campers
through the two-hour session. Along with hands-on skills, campers will learn
about the educational pathway to veterinary medical school and how they can
prepare for what awaits them as a veterinarian. Don’t miss out on this
opportunity to investigate what it is like being a veterinarian!
