Vet Camp

Pre-registration is required for both camps; the cost is $25, and participants will receive a t-shirt. Participants registering after July 15 may or may not receive their t-shirt at registration, it will be mailed to you once available.

Junior Vet Camp

Junior Vet Camp is an experience for future veterinarians in grades 6th thru 8th to provide an opportunity to be the doctor for the day.  Hands-on sessions will include exploring blood and placing catheters in animal models. You will get to practice your surgery skills by suturing up simulated incisions.  The opportunity to look at radiographs (x-rays) to learn what is inside of our patients.  Spend time learning about animals in a fun way from current veterinary students from the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine.  Learn about the educational pathway to veterinary school and how you can prepare for what awaits you as a veterinarian.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to investigate being a veterinarian.

Senior Vet Camp

Senior Vet Camp is an experience that will offer many hands-on sessions, which will challenge future veterinarians in grades 9 thru 12 to learn and develop their animal doctor skills.  During the senior camp, campers will learn and practice their suturing skills, develop their physical exam technique, learn about how radiographs (x-rays) are made and what you can learn from them.  During the camp, you will observe a live animal spay or castration surgery on a dog.  You will work with current veterinary students from the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine who will also share with you the educational pathway to veterinary school and what careers options await you as a veterinarian.  Veterinarians work with animals in hospitals, on farms, in zoo as well as use their training to protect human health via our food chain and general disease outbreak control, development of new drugs and even work to ensure that our country is safe from animal diseases in general.  You don’t want to miss this great camp.
